This included Broadway Tony Award-winning press agents/producers for Broadway Irene Gandy, Jeffrey Richards. She worked for a short time in their New York office one summer and got the PR bug. Marketing mogul Steve Manning who was responsible for much of Michael Jackson’s early solo success was a mentor and someone Adrienne admired as well. Adrienne’s big break came in 1988 when she was chosen by a major radio station in Baltimore Maryland to direct a Northeast Media and Radio campaign for the maestro himself Mr. Barry White.
She then went on to secure recording and production deals for numerous artists and would be the acting manager until they were signed to professional management. A choice few of the artists who she got signed are household names today. During the 1980’s while perfecting her PR skills she co-owned and operated four consecutive New York Nightclub venues with her then-husband entrepreneur Gustavo Mendoza. He was a relative and personal manager to the legendary boxer Roberto Duran. Adrienne handled all business for the establishments including entertainment bookings, artist contracts, marketing, and hospitality. As the years went on Adrienne traveled with many of her clients around the globe in the capacity of Press Agent and Crisis Communications Director.

The Pittsburgh Courier and Nevada Standard newspaper had 1945 Grand Opening articles/notices about Lillette’s Rhythm Club being the first Negro owned, and operated Casino, Nightclub and Hotel in Sparks Nevada. Adrienne wrote a script for the film Lillette’s Rhythm Club documentary, and the stage musical version BORN TO SWING which is currently in previews garnering great reviews.
